Our Current Projects

ChemE Car

ChemE Car is a student led project team with the goal of designing and constructing a car that is fueled by and stopped by chemical reactions. During competition day, a distance and payload is given by which the car must be able to start, move, and stop at the given distance without any outside assistance. Regional and annual competitions are held at corresponding regional and national AIChE Student Conferences and provide students an opportunity to apply chemical engineering knowledge in a team-oriented project environment. Check out one of our ChemE Car team's past runs and click on the ChemE Car logo below for more information!

ChemE Sports

ChemE Sports is a competition that occurs at the AIChE annual Student Conference involving solving practical ChemE related problems with a small team. Since 2019 the competition has been centered around process simulation software provided by Petro Skills Simulation Solutions Inc. In 2019 and 2020 student teams used a distillation column simulator. This year, Petro Skills has decided to up the difficulty; teams will be working with an Atmospheric Crude Unit simulator. ChemE Jeopardy

ChemE Jeopardy is a competition at the AIChE annual Student Conference involving a small team consisting of four members to answer chemical engineering topics and other types of questions. Please check the official AIChE website by clicking the image on the right for more information on the different types of questions presented in the 2022 AIChE Annual Student Conference Virtual ChemE Jeopardy Competition Final.
